They say being pretty is everything in this world. We only see the good part the privileges and the perfect image of them, but do you know its dark side? Is it really an advantage?

This post is going to be divided into the following categories

  1. What is the "pretty privilege"?

  2. "Pretty privilege" vs "no pretty privilege"

  3. The art of "not being perfect"

What is the "pretty privilege"?

They say looks are all that matter and that the only ones that fit into that category are the pretty privileged people. (Well, let me tell you that I don't think that is true first of all I think that the phrase I just wrote is one of the biggest nonsense I have ever written. In my opinion, personality is more important because you can change your looks but not your personality. You know what I mean right?) But we are not gonna lie being pretty has its advantages but also its dark side. But first of all, let's just explain what I considered to have "pretty privileges." In my opinion, having this kind of "privilege" basically means to be pretty like idk maybe being the popular girl with friends and no problems you know the girl that has a boyfriend and it looks as if everything in her is just perfect. (Once again I just think this is just a mask to avoid showing their problems and this leads us to something that I will mention further on.)

"Pretty privilege" vs "no pretty privilege"

So right I'm going to explain this with names to make it faster

"Pretty privilege"=Jennifer

"No pretty privilege"=Kate

So Jennifer and Kate are in the same class. Jennifer is amazing she is the queen bee from her year group she is popular, she has a boyfriend and friends, she goes to parties, etc...

Then we have Kate. Kate is an ordinary girl she has normal looks, decent grades a group of friends, etc... But who has more advantage, Jennifer or Kate? Well, Kate would desire Jennifer's life because, after all, we all want what we can't have. But stop for a second have you ever thought that maybe Jennifer is jealous of Kate's life? Jennifer wants something from Kate that she doesn't have but that Kate has and Kate doesn't even notice she has that privilege because only people that crave it can see it. You can all be thinking "What would Jennifer want from Kate? Jennifer is already perfect she has everything everyone wants." But oh my dear reader you aren't right. Jennifer wants to be Kate because Kate doesn't have the pressure of being perfect. Let me just explain this...

The art of "not being perfect."

Now let me explain why Jennifer craves the art of "not being perfect." In this world being perfect means no problems and you are considered this type of person when you are at the top of the population board. This is because everyone wants to be you because you have everything everyone desires. But deep down Jennifer is suffering. Because she needs to be perfect to keep her position if not she would fall and lose everyone she would lose her power because the people in her life are just there because of her position not because of her. So basically Jennifers lives her life with caution there can be no mistakes. One mistake and she falls down. So she acts like everything is fine because if she expresses herself and opens up she wouldn't be what is considered "perfect", so she hides it.

(I want to say once again that in my opinion, no one is perfect everyone has their ups and downs but basically you get where I'm going because this is what people see what people crave and I'm exposing the truth. Just so you know that it is bad in all good and that you never know what people are going through and never say just to keep their image clean.)

On the other hand, Kate doesn't have this pressure she has no concerned about losing her power because she isn't in danger of being left alone because there is more probability that she at least has someone that listens to her and won't judge her. But Jennifer doesn't know if someone can use her problems against her to destroy her. Kate can also fear that but she knows what people are and aren't for her. So Kate wishes for power, popularity, a lot of "friends", etc... But Jennifer craves real friends she craves external confidence and real love.

So having "pretty privileges" and being "perfect" is really an advantage?

Hope you enjoyed it!
